Elegant Bohemian Victorian cut glass lidded box. C. 1880 A simple yet stunning piece of Bohemian cut glass. Shaped and cut into a decagon, 10 sided round rimmed box, a very useful yet beautiful item. Each side bearing an amber coloured glass cabochon type panel. It is coloured glass and not a separate stone. Each one is surrounded by gilt scrolled decoration. The lid has the same 10 sided decoration with a delicate finial. The base is finely ground and smoothed, showing its handmade qualities, with the rim showing the scuffs and wear of only time can. Condition is near perfect with only slight wear to the gilding and some minor scuffs to the amber panels. No cracks or chips. Measures 5 x 5" low start.
