's a gorgeous old pillow cover or sham for your pillow. It measures about 18" by 23" including the edging. It would fit a pillow about 16 1/2" by 21". It closes on the back with three mother of pearl buttons. The backing material is a very fine creamy white linen. It appears to be entirely stitched by hand.The front of the pillow is an exquisite combination of embroidery on fine linen with cutwork and filet lace. The central motif is a floral insert of filet lace. All stitching is expert and the condition is excellent. The color of fabrics and thread is a creamy white.This gorgeous piece would be fabulous to display as a boudoir pillow, a ring bearers pillow for a wedding, or as part of a Christening ceremony!Please see my other auctions for more wonderful antique linens from the same estate.
