This Elegant designed Golden Ormolu Boudoir clock with a double sculpture of a lady holding child was found at a recent estate sale along with several other antique clocks (Please view the pictures below). The clock case, sculpture and base was created from a heavy Golden Ormolu color metal. The styling and "Life like " feature details of the double sculpture and case gives me the impression that it was created by the 19th century French artists, even though I can not find any markings on the outside. The eye catching focal point of this clock are the beautiful and amazing sculptures of a young lady (Possibly a mother) holding her young child on her lap. She is sitting in a tall back decorative old chair and wearing a long and full dress . The details show a shawl over her shoulders and her long hair. She is barefooted and displayed on a decorative base floor that is highlighted with a geometric designs and tassles . Next to her is a Golden pedestal that displays the circular face of the clock mounted in a cylinder drum. Wrapped around the outer part of the cylinder is a spray of flowering floral. The face of the clock is protected behind a clear circular glass panel that has a beaded designed Brass circular edge around it. The face appears to have been created from a paper type material and numbere in Black Arabic script numerals . The hands are very decorative and Golden in color. The movement of the clock is a key wind (Key located in rear with other time set adjustment knobs). The clock runs very good and keeps time. The overall condition is exceptional with only some Bluesh color age patina showing on the finish. The bottom of the base has a 'Felt' type material to protect your furniture from scratches. The overall height of the sculpture and clock is approx. 7 1/2" and has a base width of 9". This is a very unique and lovely sculpture clock. I'm amazed how the artist were able to make the two sculptures as one . The child is sperate at his legs, but the lady's arms are wrapped around him. I will keep my price very low for some lucky person and remember this auction is for only 3 days , so place your bids early. Buyer to pay shipping costs (can be figured below by typing in your zip code ). Money order or cashiers check for payment. Thanks for viewing.
