This Elegant designed Old Wooden Parlor clock that plays with Musical chimes was part of a collection of antique clocks purchased from a local estate sale. (Please view the pictures below). This clock's gorgeous wooden case was very artistically designed with a rounded dome shaped top and stands an approx. 11" tall with a base width of 8 1/2" and a depth of 9". The wood is a deep Redish Brown in color and richly grained with a Teak or Mahogany appearance. The case is designed with a unique lower insert piece of a Cream color material that gives the appearance of the old Radios. The face is very impressive with a 6" diameter and protected behind a clear , circular and dome shaped glass panel that is trimmed with a Brass circular frame. This panel is also hinged and gives access to the face beneath. The dial is also a lovely creation consisting of a outer Silver metal band and the natural wood grain in the center. The dial is numbered in large Black Roman numerals with the seconds lettered on the extreme outer edge . T is a plaque in the lower center that has name 'SETH THOMAS' written on it. The hands are also very decorative designed from a Golden Brass metal and held in the center with a metal pin. The back of the case has a hinged wooden access door. The movement is of the finest quality . It's a 8 day , key wind (Comes with key) and operated by a Brass metal pendulum. The clock runs fantastic and plays the loveliness sounding Westminster chimes I have ever heard. These musical tunes are played on every quarter hour and when finished on the hour , they will sound as many times needed for the time of day. The musical tune is played on a five chime bar arrangement located in the back of the case. The movement is marked "124 MADE IN USA". On the back of the rear access door is the original paper Instructions and information label. This label is in excellent condition . The movement appears to have been recently cleaned and oiled . The clock runs perfect and the musical tunes are perfect. The overall condition is also exceptional with no defects I can see anyw If you are looking for one of the finest West Minster chimes clock made, then don't look anymore, this is a great clock .
