Up for Auction we have carved Ivory Tusk Elephant figurine. It stands 2-1/4" tall and 3-1/4" wide. This very detailed elephant figurine is actually carved out of Elephant Ivory Tusk from Thialand in the early 1960's. My mother purchased it while we were stationed t The figurine shows the Lines of Retzius, which are unique to elephant ivory. These fine interseting lines are visible in cross section, and give an engine-turned effect (intersecting lines with a diamond shape between them). The elephant itself is in mint condition for its age with no breaks or cracks at all. The base itself has a stratch on the top, as seen in the pictures. It has been displayed in my mother's glass hutch since we retired back in the states in the 70's. It is truly an exceptional piece for any collector. Please email me with any questions.
