This is an unusual item -- an Elettren (Italy) 0-gauge Pacific-type locomotive & tender (FS 0691). This model dates from the late 1940s, and is modelled on an Italian-type prototype. Elettren is of very high quality (cf. Marklin) and this model is a very heavy full 0-scale unit about 23 inches combined length. Both loco & tender are made of heavy gauge steel and diecast metal and has considerable detail, including a great backhead in the cab. Sadly, the cast wheels on the loco (drive wheels and others) have suffered from metal fatique over the years, and many of them have to be replaced for operational use. Also, some trim pieces are missing (eg, firebox grab rail, one buffer on tender). Still, the unit makes a fine display piece and could be restored for operational use by someone who knows what he's doing. (A nice original FS 0691 sells for about $2500.00). This was a display piece for me, and I have no means to test it. Untested -- Sold AS IS.
