early 20th century, depicting famous works of art including Gainsborough's Mrs. Hallet, Echo after E. Bisson, and others. Diameter 10 inches.
Estimate $ 1,500-2,500 Property from the Estate of Mrs. Jacob Baur (Bertha Baur), Chicago, Illinois None artist signed, all with number 230 in blue. Under U-V light, no discernible breaks or repairs. All with rubbing to the gilt along the edge and with wear to the raised gilt dots (some with chips) in the center by the painting--to varying degrees. With fluorescence in some spots where the painted decoration has rubbed through to the glaze--rubbed or loss entirely through to base in some spots. We highly recommend inspecting these in person, to be able to ascertain condition of each plate. Including depictions of the following listed with visible losses: Mrs. Hallot m. Lord Rothschild after T. Gainsborough with residue from a sticker on the gilt border and a few other areas of residue The Blue Boy after T. Gainsborough with 8 losses to paint and 13 losses to gilt Maria Mancini (Galerie Berlin) with 6 losses to paint and 12 losses to gilt Gräfin Potocke with 5 losses to paint and 12 losses to gilt Echo after E. Bisson with discolored spots throughout, 9 losses to paint and 9 losses to gilt Elisabetta Lebrun 10 losses to paint and 2 losses to gilt Lady Anna Bingham 8 losses to paint Amor mit Schmetterling after W.
