Elfquest Book 1 Hardcover number 1453 of a limited edition of 3000. Number 1453 is in absolutely NEW condition - still in the original factory shrink-wrap! This is the one you've been waiting for. Extremely hard to come by and in NEW condition! The Holy Grail of Elfquest stuff! These books are the First Series/First Printing of the original story in the early eighties. Book 1 reprises the original WaRP Graphics comics numbers 1 through 5 which, at the time, were known as "Journey to Sorrow's End". In later re-prints this part of the story was re-named "Fire and Flight". Book 2 covers that part of the story known as "The Forbidden Grove" and is tfore concerned with the original comics numbered 6 through 10. Book 3, "Blue Mountain", covers comics 11 through 15. Book 4 deals with the final comics numbers 16 through 21, "Quest's End". Book 1 was limited to 3000 signed and numbered copies. Books 2, 3, and 4 were limited to 4000. I have seen opened Book 1s, and they have all had the full signature of Wendy and Richard Pini. The books 2, 3, and 4s that I have seen all have abbreviated signatures (W+R Pini). Printed on glossy paper, these are full color - the same as the softcovers. Easy to see the difference between the hard and soft covers.
