ELGIN OVERLAND 17 JEWEL 5 oz. SILVER/ NICKEL CASE Circa: 1903. 62mm in diameter. This scarce Elgin variation features both superb condition and a 5oz. Silver open face case. This case is very scarce because it is 50% silver and massive in appearance. This very collectible Elgin watch is beautifully oversize and is clean, running and still accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Double sunken original Railroad Grade white porcelain dial correct for this grade. A fine hairline exists at 11 edge which does not distract. MOVEMENT: 18 size, open face, full plate nickel with bright color damascening plates, marked: Ã,Â"ADJUSTEDÃ,Â" on the balance cock, lever set, Ã,Â"17 JewelsÃ,Â", Ã,Â"OVERLANDÃ,Â", #10,762,246. Clean, running and free of distraction. CASE: Scarce screw back and swing out plain polished with a massive coin edge bezel. This is an American made 5oz. silver case filled to 50% nickel for strength. Very scarce, massive, impressive, and in excellent condition.
