For auction : an Elgin mechanical travel alarm clock in a black leattte clamshell case lined with lavender cloth. Made in Japan circa 1965. The clock has a white face, gold-tone bezel, black numerals and hands, a date panel at 3 o'clock, and a rotating dial for indicating the time zone in various cities and countries around the world, from Midway to Mombasa. The face and hands are painted with luminous paint. The word "Elgin" appears on the face; on the back, "Bradley Time Div., Japan" is engraved; and "Case made in Japan" is printed inside the clamshell. The clock looks nice--shows very little wear-- and runs well. It keeps excellent time; the alarm works perfectly; the case opens and latches; the time zone indicator dial turns easily; and the time-set and alarm-set controls work properly. One problem--I can't set the date; however, the date does go up at appropriate intervals as the clock runs (compare photos 1 & 2). Shipping: First class, worldwide. Thanks for looking! Questions and comments are welcome.
