This is a Eli Lilly ceramic Apothecary Pharmacy Jar in a dark mauve color and gold gilding around lid and around bottom and in center of jar with the word "Lactucarium". The jar is 8 inches tall and is in great condition with no chips or cracks. This is a numbered jar being 18/541. It also comes with a paper that tells a story about the Comfrey plant and how its roots and leaves were used to treat broken bones in Europe and Asia since the Middle Ages.
