This is a one of a kind Charles Elkan wood box made from a single piece of beautiful maple burl . This box has exceptional colors, patterns, and measures 4 1/8'' inches tall by 4 1/4 '' long by 2 1/2'' wide.. After attending college in Philadelphia, Charles moved with his family to Oregon where they found a home in Silverton, a town known for its beautiful trees and waterfalls. His brother Michael soon asked Charles to join him in a woodworking venture. Charles and his wife Mona began working together making one of a kind Maple Burl boxes, mirrors and furniture from 1979 to 1993. In 1993 Charles and Mona sought a new challenge and created their own unique line of functional art. Creating one of a kind burl wood clocks,boxes, and weather stations became a successful and rewarding venture. Charles Elkan creations are represented in many fine galleries across the country. Charles and Mona have hand crafted together each one of these one of a kind creations, over the last 20 years.
