WHAT A LOVELY HIGH QUALITY LATE GEORGE V TEA SERVICE! Here we have a quite splendid solid silver 3 piece Birmingham made tea service of most breathtaking and highly typical art deco form. All pieces are assayed in Birmingham,1934 by high quality makers Elkington & Co-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 91.Year letter J.Features optional silver jubilee mark too. For reference teapot is 6 inches in height and 10.625 inches in diameter,it is thus of very good size. A stunning pot,its weight is a sublime 556 grams. Crucially fruitwood handle and finial are firm and secure. Sugar bowl is 3.5 inches in height and 7 inches in diameter.Weight is a sublime 210 grams. Cream jug is 3.75 inches in height and 5.5 inches in diameter.Weight is a considerable 145 grams. The total weight of this awesome set is a hefty 911 grams or 29.29 troy ounces. Their condition is quite sensational.Clearly they have been very well looked after and only used on special occasions. All pieces are unengraved and always have been. All pieces sit on an octagonal base. ALL IN ALL A QUITE LOVELY VERY HEAVY ANTIQUE TEA SET OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. PERFECT FOR USE ALL YEAR ROUND. Would cost an obscene amount in a good retail outlet-if you could find one quite so nice... Teasets are hard to find nowadays as most have been scrapped due to the sky high price of the metal. Very functional, desireable and well worth a bid. Collection is more than welcome.I am located in AMERSHAM near junction 18 of M25 motorways. I will send worldwide by fully insured airmail. A REALLY SPECIAL LOT!! OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE!!!
