***Elmwood Mine*** ((( Complex Fluorite Cubes ))) ~~ Deep Aqua Blue with Purple Outlined Cubes ~~ "Peppered with Gold Marcasite/Chalcopyrite" *Absolute Floater - No Attachment Breakage* *Eye Perfect - Dazzling - No Damage* < Completely Translucent + No Cloudy Areas > Smith County - Tennessee * U.S.A.* 6" x 4" inches wide x 4-3/4" inches tall 3.86 Lbs - 1750 Grams The Elmwood Mine in Tennessee produced some of the worlds most beautiful calcite and fluorite specimens before shutting down and after closely looking at this jaw dropper I can't decide if it's two large geometrically opposed cubes, a single complex multi directional layered puzzle or perhaps a Japan law twin fluorite, if t is such a thing? However you classify it one thing is for sure it's 100% spectacular and top to bottom all the way around it's 100% completely well formed and given a rating of 1 to ten it's totally off the scale of beyond mouth watering gorgeous. The colors are astounding like a clear aqua blue lagoon through the center rising into shades of soft spring lilac then turning into deep purple violet outlines that accent the stairstepped and layered edges of the literally thousands of complex geometric cubic structures in all shapes and sizes that populate the outer surfaces. To top it all off the whole complex structure is practically gem facet grade transparent and beautifully translucent with no milky or cloudy areas inside which is extremely rare for such large sized cubes. Indoors out of the sunlight the crystal appears somewhat darker but even in a dim light the colors are vibrant and beautiful and on a lightbase or backlit would present an absolutely brilliant display. The Elmwood Mine has been permanently closed due to the declining prices of zinc and world class specimens of gorgeous calcite & fluorite like this dazzling beauty are sadly no longer being produced.
