Trude Forsher takes dictation from Elvis! In 1956, when most of the women in Trude Forsher's Los Angeles neighborhood took care of domestic business, Trude took care of other business...the business of Elvis Presley and his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The 36-year-old refugee from Nazi-occupied Austria, a wife and mother of two boys, was Presley and Parker's personal secretary. For six years, from 1956-1961, Trude was a trusted member of the King's inner circle. She was their gatekeeper; if you wanted to get to Elvis or Colonel Parker, you first had to get past Trude. Last year, Trude's son began unsealing the boxes he inherited after her 2000 death and discovered a virtual treasure trove of Elvis/Colonel Parker memorabilia within. Journals...letters...photographs...movie scripts...magazines...promotional items...Graceland Christmas card...letters to his fan club...membership cards...movie premiere programs...LPs...and on and on and on. Almost everything came right out of Elvis's movie studio office/dressing room, meticulously preserved for almost 50 years in Trude's private collection. And now, for the first time, available to private collectors. Love Street Gallery is proud to present this ultra rare collection; we've never before seen an archive as intriguing. Please check back often as we'll be adding many, many more items...the fun has just begun!
