Elvis acetate recordings are the rarest records in the world.

This acetate was recording in 1960.

This particular acetate was given to me by Harold Loyd at the gates of Graceland, many years ago. Harold said that he rescured a trunk load of things that were being discarded at Graceland. Harold actually was giving things away to fans at the gate that particular night.

Acetates are medal made round disc that are covered with a special coating of special wax. They were used to listen to a perfect play for about 25-30 times. Most of the time, Elvis would take these with him to listen too before his decision to release it, while on the road or at home. RCA would only record maybe 4 to 8 of each acetate. Sometimes less.

RCA originally released the 45 rpm, It's Now or Never to the public during July, 1960. On the flip side was A Mess of Blues. This 45 rpm became one of the most successful recordings of Elvis' career. It was also one of Elvis favorite songs.

Speed 45. No. 02:14. I Gotta Know. L2-WW-0104. Elvis Presley. Upper right of label is letters: NG (probably indicating No Good).

Both labels also read: Radio Corporation of America. RCA Victor Record Division. Made in U.S.A.

This is a 10-inch disc, 45 rpm. Has surface scratches only. Still has a luster to both sides. Solid record.

Writing on acetate is light ballpoint pen or maybe even pencil, but still visible. Label shows some aging for being 48-years-old.
