Pleased to offer a very rare and historical document giving slave/servant his freedom April 1861 in the city of Norfolk Virginia. Document reads: Know all men by these presents, that A A Condry for and in consideration of the faithful service of my negro man George Danley, do solely emancipate and set free the said negro man George Danley and absolve him from all claim to my service and for the consideration afore said solely emancipate unto him his freedom against the claim of my self and of all persons ??????? to witness my hand and seal at the city of Norfolk, this 29th day of April 1861. Signed and sealed by A A Condry. Below that is the notarized statement by Norfolk Clerk. This is a very rare piece of American historical documentation. that this document is original and from 1861.
