You are bidding on a beautiful Dioptase specimen. The adamantine luster of the emerald-green Dioptase crystals make this piece a must for your collection. The Dioptase crystals have rhombohedral terminations. The specimen is Thumbnail-size: 29-mm (1.1-inch) in length. The piece is from the world-famous Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia.

Dioptase is a copper cyclosilicate mineral . It is an uncommon mineral found mostly in desert regions where it forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidized zone of copper sulfide mineral deposits. Hardness is 5 on the Mohs scale. Dioptase crystals belong to the Trigonal System.
