I had the good fortune to visit one of our fine antiques and collectibles shops just as the owners were bringing out the "treasures" found on their recent trip to Europe. Needless to say I bought everything in sight. According to the owner, these pieces were from a rare collection of antique and vintage stones, stampings and findings that were made between 1915 and 1945. Many came from cottage industry's located in Bohemia, Bavaria, Italy and France. Because of the delicate nature of the designs and the intensive hand labor used to create them, only a limited number of these pieces are available. Some of the spring rings and clasps have been replaced with newer, sturdier findings because the vintage ones had been destroyed over the years. This is a beautiful emerald green Peking Glass brooch. It measures 2 1/2" wide.
