It is believed they were produced in Stourbridge, England by the glass firm Webb & Sons who produced high quality glass wares. Carnival glass copies of this vase were produced by Harry Northwood af ter moving from the U.K. to the U.S.A . The Northwood Tornado Vase is highly collectible, but as not hand blown were produced in greater numbers. As you can see from the photograph the iridescence is stunning, and the vivid marigold glass varies to a shocking pink in the light. The applied stylized peacock feathers are in green . It has been said that this first version is equal in quality to Tiffany. Apparently, these vases were originally sold in Harrods in 1909 and this particular version with the green tornado's was called Emeraldine. This vase meas ures 18.5 cms x 9.5 cms approx.
