EMG Hz TB-1 Non-Production Bridge Pickup! This is an amazingly versatile pickup that is great for rock and metal but one which is only available to guitar manufacturers rather than off the shelf, just like the Musicman Axis pickups made by Dimarzio! This pickup is taken from one of my Cort guitars and, speaking to them as an endorsed artist a couple of years ago, their head tech told me via email that this is his favourite pickup that they use in any their guitars, including the Seymour Duncan JB and the EMG 81. Unlike traditional EMG designs, the TB-1 uses an open coil design and provides the perfect balance between clarity and high gain. It's perfect for rock, blues, metal, or country since it can be coil split to give great single coil tones. Don’t let the passive design fool you, though; there's plenty of power from this humbucker when you need it! An Alnico V bar magnet provides all the sustain and distortion you need and is the same design found in many of rock and metal's most popular pickups, such as the Seymour Duncan JB, Dimarzio Tone Zone, Bare Knuckle Warpig, etc. I love to swap out my pickups as soon as I get a new guitar, however these pickups are so good that I never have!
