EMILE GALLE' TWO-TIERED ART NOUVEAU TABLE (signed) Offered for your consideration is this very beautiful authentic signed two-tiered table created by Emile Galle'. The marquetry is absolutely marvelous, and a table of this quality is quite a rare find in today's market. The top tier is 28 " wide and 20" deep.The lower tier is 20" wide and 12" deep.The apron surrounding the top tier is 1" deep.The table stands on four gracefully rounded, splayed legs standing 29" in height. The top tier displays the talents and artistry of GALLE' by creating a bucolic scene in the art form of inlaid marquetry. The use of a variety of exotic woods like pecan, birdseye maple, walnut,and other fruitwoods, all create this beautiful floral or woodland scene.Below, on the lower tier, there is a similar scene but on a smaller scale. How wonderful a capability to create such excellent marquetry by inlaying cut shapes and intricate forms and patterns, then placing them into a space, creating trees, rivers, mountains, vineyards, flowers , etc. in varying woods. A very special art form.The capacity to accomplish such marvelous works in wood is a wonder in itself. The table is sturdy enough to this very day to hold a heavy antique lamp on it in my living room.I have been the proud owner for many years.The wood inlaid marquetry is in great condition. The Galle' signature, in very fine wooden inlaid script suggests that it was an early piece. It is in the lower leaf of a plant, close to the right edge of the bottom of the scene, on the upper tier.The apron around the table-top has a very small sliver of wood missing, at the very top edge, which can be very easily replaced. THIS IS A RARE MUSEUM QUALITY SIGNED EMILE GALLE' WORK OF ART. Have fun bidding on this one. It is a valuable work of art !!!!! Thanks for visiting !!!!
