Offered for your consideration are two (2) of the highly-acclaimed EMIT tweeters , original equipment in the Infinity Quantum Line Source 2 four-way speakers from 1979. The QLS-2, better known as the Quantum 2, featured a 12” Watkins dual voice coil woofer, dual 1½� dome midranges, 4” midbass unit, and a line-array of three EMIT tweeters per cabinet. I’ve included a copy of the sales brochure for these massive audiophile speakers, which goes into some detail about the EMIT’s, at the bottom of the listing. These tweeters were also OE in the flagship QLS-1. Please take a look at the large photos I've taken for your review.As you probably know, “EMIT” is an acronym for electromagnetic induction tweeter, often called a planar or ribbon tweeter. With their light, yet strong Samarium Cobalt magnets, the EMIT’s are renowned for clarity of sound and super high frequencies. Infinity used several different models of the EMIT in many of their top speakers in the 1980’s and 90’s, but they were introduced in the Quantum Line Source series of the late 70’s. These are the original EMIT’s. As you can see, these EMIT tweeters are in very good condition. The faceplates and magnet covers have some minor scuffing and several tiny scratches, but are very presentable overall. T’s black tape on the backs, apparently a factory mounting buffer.
