Up for auction a neat old figurine of the The Empire State Building. It stands about 7 inches tall and looks to be made of pot metal, it is silver in color. It has writing around the four side of the building, "Empire State, Height 1250 ft., New York, World's Tallest" It has a match holder and small ashtray attached to the side that says "World's Tallest". I do not know if the ashtray match holder is original or added later it is marked K & Co the ashtray has a little indent on the edge to hold a cigarette. The K&O Co.(Kronheimer & Oldenbush Co.) Founded 1895 Ernest A. Oldenbusch of New York had been associated with the William Schimper Co. until 1900 with whom he held fifteen patents, three for pocket match holders. In 1909 he formed a partnership as one of the principals in the Kronheimer Oldenbusch Co., to make plated silverware's and novelty tobacciana items. I believe it is original. Neat vintage piece, note it was made before the antenna was put on in the 1930's.
