This is an absolutely magnificent singing bird box. I have examined the enamel work with a jewelers magnifying glass and it is perfect with no chips or cracks. The colors are gorgeous. The box itself is gold plated solid brass. The bird is covered in real multi colored feathers, and the colors are outstanding. The original bird shaped key is included. This little treasure shows German craftsmanship at its finest. The solid brass mechanism is in excellent condition and plays strongly with good, crisp singing of the very realistic bird chirping melody. The key is inserted into the bottom hole and wound up, then slide the lever in the front and the lid opens, and the bird begins to chirp, flap its wings and tail, move its beak, all in perfect time with the chirping.

This particular design is a favorite among collectors, and I have seen them sell for over $4,000. I have watched singing birds on ebay for about 6 years and they are only going up in value. A good, solid investment. I am going to offer this for a quick buy for a very fair and low price. If you watch these on ebay with any regularity, you will know that my price is truly a bargain. I will also offer a 90 day warranty against defects under normal use. You simply cannot go wrong! Buy it and enjoy it for a while, you could always sell it for more than you pay for it. Really though, this is a true heirloom quality piece that can be handed down for many generations.
