Vintage Graniteware Matches Box Early vintage French wall-hanging matches box heavy white enameling with cobalt blue band detailing and the word ALLUMETTES (matches) in black gothic style lettering . This substantial piece measures 7¼” and 6¼” by 3½” wide. Its backside is trademark stamped “G.O.” (the initials of the founder of “L’Emaillerie Parisienne”, Gabriel Odelin). A diamond shaped scrapper is located on top of the lid. As shown in photos, this authentic piece is still solidly intact and wonderfully decorative despite some minor wear apportioned to its age, in particular along the edges.
