DESCRIPTION: Delightful little English burled walnut chest of drawers, fabulous in every way and worthy of any room in just about any decor in just about any setting. If you've been shopping my auctions long you'll know that I seldom feature traditional style antiques, but this was a piece I picked up long ago and modern though it may not be as most of my stuff tends toward, this little beauty has some of the best features and lines of most of the pieces I've ever had. It's classic English Victorian washstand with superb details and properly subdued flair ; walnut burl appliques on drawer fronts (look at those hand carved key escutcheon appliques, too - sublime ) original brass pulls, original porcelain "invisible" casters at base for being able to easily move around, and beveled edge Carrera marble top (removes from top of chest). The drawers are finger jointed; peg and dovetail very classic in English bench made pieces; and the joinery throughout os exquisite. The scale, the detail, the construction - all of it supremely done and an absolute delight but of course with me the favorite aspect is that it's beautiful form combined with fabulous function: This piece would be not only beautiful but useful in so many places - and that, my dears, is the true test, the enduring hallmark of great design! CONDITION: Solid, Sturdy, This is an antique of at least 100 years though in excellent condition with signs of wear to surfaces commensurate with age and use. All of my items are vintage or antique, so it is normal to have signs of age and wear. Please read description for more detail. MEASURES: 31 1/2"h, 30 1/2" wide, 18"deep SHIPPING: Can ship Greyhound $200 (but please be advised Greyhound will only insure for up to $300 and we cannot be responsible for anything beyond that should it be damaged in transit) We pack VERY well, but even so, shipping is shipping and ship happens . Your other option is freight SEE BELOW DELIVERY: Can be delivered to UCLA ( Tues/Wed) or USC (Mon, Thurs/ Fri) campuses during weekdays for $10. We Do Not Deliver anyw but those two places . PICK UP: You are welcome to pick up in Newport Beach for no charge but MUST be picked up within 10 days or item will incur storage fees of $10 per day tafter and item will not be released until fees are paid in full. WE HAVE LIMITED SPACE SO PLEASE PICK UP IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE TERMS. Item needs to be paid for within 3 days even if picking up unless otherwise agreed upon in advance of close of bidding.
