DUNHILL 6LB RED BARK 8295 SHS JSC [275] 85 Full sized Dunhill Red Bark 6LB saddle billiard This chunky Red Bark sandblast is from 1972, the first year Dunhill introduced that finish, and it is quite rare, not only because they sent few Red Barks to the U.S., but because they made few saddle bits in any shape. This 6LB (the 6 refers to the saddle mouthpiece) is an LB in every regard (fat and full-chambered) except for the stem. It is another outstanding Dunhill from the Skellchock collection (see below). It is in absolutely pristine condition, and the stem is glossy and black. A California collector of primarily oversized English high-grades, he acquired his pipes in the 1960s and '70s and was known to smoke and maintain them meticulously. Almost every briar is still like new, with no surface wear, no toothmarks, a glossy stem and a crisp, clean rim. He favored English blends from Drucquer & Sons in Berkeley. More in my eBay Store
