This is a stunning piece of English Ironstone with Tea Leaf Copper Lustre pattern on it. Piece was made by Anthony Shaw, stamped on bottom ( see photo). Coffeepot dates to 1856 , according to stamp used. Coffeepot measures 9 " spout to handle, 9 3/4 " tall to top of finial, 6 1/4 " diameter of widest part of base. This piece is a Chinese shaped Ironstone Coffeepot, which is 8 sided and is heavily embossed on handle, spout, and lid is embossed with leaves and a rose is finial. Piece is also embellished with Tea Leaf Copper lustre consisting of band on base, rim , rim of lid, and large Tea Leaf on either side. T is also embellishing of copper on embossed areas throughout piece. Piece is in excellent condition with only minor issues, one a very small nick on lustre on spout , less than 1/8", 2 spots of pink ( which looks like a bit of faint copper, glaze defect ? ). I have tried to photograph so you can view blemishes, but overall not very noticeable. This piece is a keeper and color is white and brilliant. Coffeepot will make a magnificent addition to any collection. Thanks for looking.
