This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL example of a Perivale Mantle Clock in wonderful condition. Runs great! It is a very classy design mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. The movement is signed PERIVALE. The Perivale Company is an English Company maker of very high quality clocks. It has a signed 8 day time and strike movement which chimes a on a cathedral gong on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour with a beautiful sound. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. This one runs about the best I have ever seen with a big bold swing of the escapement and pendulum. Has a very pleasant quiet ticking sound as it runs. The case is very beautiful! The case is made of what looks like walnut in a beautiful style in nearly like new condition. It must have been made by a master craftsman by the quality of the construction. Has no bumps or scratches. The dial is original and in as perfect as they get original condition! The numbers and lettering are very crisp! (See picture) The metal around the dial is original. Has its original convex glass and bezel! The hands are original. One thing I really like is its original back and back door! Complete with an original heavy duty key - works great. The clock measures 8 ¾ inches high, 5 ½ inches deep, and 8 ¾ inches wide. These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working after all these years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 100 years! Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment. Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age. You will become attached to your antique clocks and they will become a meaningful and important part of your life adding untold joy each day you own them. They can be handed down from one generation to another as they increase daily in value.
