ENGLISH STERLING SILVER PICTURE FRAME HALLMARKED 1920 An English solid silver picture frame fully hallmarked for 1920 and the assay town of Birmingham. The gentle curve of the edges gives way to an oval shape for your favorite picture. I brought back several sterling frames on my recent buying trip since they always make "the best" gifts for Christmas.The year 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified on August 18, giving American women the right to vote. Edith Wharton's novel Age of Innocence is published and wins the Nobel Prize in 1921. Also that year the Jazz Era begins. The condition is good with minor dimples and surface scratches in accordance with the age. The original wood back and easel are good condition also. Please check the pictures for the measurements.
