Up For Your Consideration For Bid: A Vintage Needle Work Fireplace Screen From England. This one is awesome!! We see lots of different styles of these coming over from England and pass on about 95% of them, this one is one of the exceptions. Although it doesn't and never did have a glass in it, it just stole our hearts. The size is a lot larger than most .It's 23 1/8" wide, 13 1/2" deep at the base and 43 3/4" tall. The needlework portion is 20 7/8" X 24". The frame is a show stopper in it'self. Made out of Solid Mahogany the legs, sides, & Classic Victorian turned post cross brace are all still in tact without any repairs which is quite surprizing for something of this ones age and travels. It has carved "rosette's" on each side of the frame. The needle work is in better than average condition considering it's been exposed for 100 years or so to the elements. It is of a "Woman at the Well". The back cover, which is a linen material. is quite thread bare in places. Being that it is the backside, and wouldn't be exposed, we just left it alone. The screen or needlework portion is "removable" from the frame. You just lift it out! I have never seen one made like this one. Overall, it's in good to very good condition and has tremdous eye appeal and again, it is quite old. It has a few dings and a few scratches, but this just adds character to this wonderful piece. What a conversation piece this will make for your den, foyer, sun room, family room or Bedroom!! Please Read the Terms for Payment . Payment is expected in 7 days after the auction closed.
