A truly beautiful, stunning and elegant four-piece glassware vase...this being an Epergne centerpiece Victorian era cranberry glass work of art. This piece features a wide glass base measuring approximately 11" wide x 2.5" deep. The base has a raised center stem that supports a metallic (possibly brass or bronze...not certain, though) base to hold three seperate trumpet-type vases. Two of the glassware vases measure approximately 10" tall. The primary glass vase (the centerpiece of the centerpiece if you will) measures approximately 15" tall. Each vase has a wrap-around glass ribbon-like decoration. Although the precise date of manufacturing is not known....this glass artwork easily dates back to the late 1800s - very early 1900s. Color is a cranberry pinkish hue. As you collectors know, the process of making elegant glassware pieces like this was not an exact science.....as a result, t are manufacturer's 'dimples', air bubbles and 'waves' within the glass itself. The only flaw to this beautiful piece is a small chip on the base (see close-up photo)....but it is nothing that detracts from the elegance of this item. The metallic stems on each trumpet vase are intact on the two smaller vases....the metal is missing from the larger vase, but it still fits firmly into the metal base.
