Fabulous, groovy, original early 1970's Epiphone EA250 (by Gibson) semi acoustic electric guitar - made in Japan. This guitar based on the 335, was produced in Japan in the 70's, so a pretty rare model indeed. It has been in the family since new and has been gigged by musicians - no mock 'road worn' look here! It has been in my large collection since 1980 with the intention of revamping it, but has remained as a stage prop (real talking point) or it has been stored. To get it back into top notch playable condition, it requires a decent bridge, I'm not too sure where this one came from and it is not fixed to the body, but I have kept it in place since inheriting the guitar. All switches and controls operate but could probably do with a bit of attention to eradicate hissing, popping and cutting out. The tremolo is obviously original and makes some glorious clanking and groaning sounds when feeding back. The body still has its original deep red colour with requisite marks due to use. There are 2 areas to the top of the body where surface markings are apparant ie: at the top of the left f hole and to the area behind the bridge pick up where the bridge is positioned (photo 6).
