These really are amazing monitors for their size and cost. I've owned them from new and they're in perfect condition. Personally I've found them easier to get good (translatable) mixes on than NS10s, and found them more revealing than the Mackie HR 624s that have been my main monitors for years. However, recently I got a pair of ATCs (which are around ten times the price of these) and I can't justify keeping the Equators, mostly because there's not a whole lot of difference between the two in terms of mixing! Sure, the ATCs have more brutal midrange "definition", but the Equators sound like they have a similar balance - and perhaps even more low end than the closed-box ATCs. Honestly, I've been looking for reasons to keep these monitors, but as I'm moving abroad I have to minimise the stuff I'm taking with me. The speakers have not been "cranked" for any length of time: occasional mix checks at around 90db (@1m), then mixing the rest of the time at low to mid levels.
