Uncommon Title Which Came from the Library of Film Director Roy Ward Baker who was a close Friend of Ambler's (see pictures) Condition Of Book: T his is a Fine Copy of this Book in Publisher's blue cloth with silver title lettering to spine and housed in a slip-case graded Fine.This is the SIGNED LIMITED EDITION one of only 100 copies and SIGNED by Eric Ambler on the Limitation Page.This copy was acquired from the private library of Film Director Roy Ward Baker who was a close friend of Eric Ambler,this copy in not numbered so could possibly have been the first one given to Roy.He started as a tea boy and his first jobs were menial,but by 1938 he had risen to the level of as assistant director on Alfred Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes (1938).He served in the Army during World War II, transferring to the Army Kinematograph Unit in 1943.
