Ernest Gabard French Deco Antique Bronze Listed Artist No Reserve Auction. This is an original bronze signed Gabard, by Ernest Gabard, the French illustrator during WW1. Mr. Gabard lived between 1879 and 1957. He is known for posters, but his passion was to be a sculptor. This bronze is in excellent condition, and has a wonderful patina. It stands 17 ½ inches high, and 6 1/8 inches at the green marble base. The bronze is marked with the name âeoeGrand Hommeâe and Fondour Paris. It weighs about 12 pounds. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you would like additional photos. If you are the successful bidder, I will need to hear from you within 3 days of the sale. I purchased this bronze years ago from an antique store. Although the store had a high end inventory, a number of items really stood out as exceptional, this was among them, and I was told by the owner that they came from the Kaufmann estate in Pittsburgh (the department store ownerâe(tm)s home). This was decades ago. The cost of shipping to the United States is $15. 00 and for that price, it will be double boxed, and carefully packed, and insured. I will be willing to ship this anyw else in the world at actual cost. Thank you for taking the time to look this over.
