Familiarly known as "The Duck", the plane, a Keystone-Loenig Amphibian Commuter, was purchased by Texaco from Embree H. Hunt, Louisiana on March 19, 1936 for the amount of $14,690.75. The Keystone-Loenig Amphibian Commuter was a four-place, single engine biplane. The hull was constructed mostly of aluminum alloy fastened together with machine screws. The water tightness of the hull allows taking off and landing in shallow. This is an ERTL Collectible - a 2000 Texaco Licensed Product. It is authentically scaled replica 1936 Keystone-Loening Commuter - Die-cast metal coin bank - highly detailed with struts and rotating propellor. The plane measures 9" long, approx. 11 1/4" wide and stands almost 4" tall. The cockpit lifts up to reveal a slot for coins. On the bottom t is a 'door' that opens to retrieve the coins. The plane is in excellent condition! It comes in the original box with the styrofoam. The bottom left hand corner of the box has been pushed in a little. The box measures approx. 10 1/4" x 12.5" x 5 1/4". This is a fantastic item for the collector!
