This auction is for a vintage Farmall 404 Tractor manufactured by Ertl in 1964 (Stock #437). It's a 1:16 scale replica and is made of die-cast metal. This version features a narrow front end and has the red die-cast rims on the rear wheels and the red plastic rims on front wheels. My dad had numerous tractors on display in my parents' home. Instead of a "plate rail", he had a "tractor rail" built-in along the walls of their basement just below the ceiling, so the tractors were rarely handled, just admired. We had hoped to come across the original boxes for these displayed tractors, but we have not found them. So we are beginning to sell the tractors without their boxes. This is one of the great pieces that he had on display. Despite not having a box, this tractor is in terrific condition. Upon initial inspection, I do not see any scratches or nicks to the paint, about the only issue might be some dust in the cracks and crevices. As I look at it really closely and get really picky, there are two tiny (1/10 of a cm) chips on the rear wheel rims and one little tiny chip on the driver's side front end of the engine. But other than that, the tractor is in amazing shape and a wonderful addition to any collection.
