Espiritu del Ecuador was founded in San Francisco de Quito, capital of Ecuador in 1992.

Like the majority of companies, the three founders were inspired by a great idea and with patriotism and enthusiasm to bring a product to market of which our country would be proud. They put together their limited resources to launch this grand project.

From 1992 to 1994 the founders of "Espiritu del Ecuador" did everything necessary to prepare the products for the market place, designing and developing the two initial presentations. New partners joined the team in this noble project.

On June 10th 1994 "Espiritu del Ecuador" appeared on the market and started what would be a slow but sure journey toward acceptance by the Ecuadorian consumer, and later the world.

The first productions were sub-contracted to existing bottlers because the company didn't have its own plant. That changed in 1997 when Espiritu del Ecuador S.A. opened it's own production facility.

Early in 1998, Espiritu del Ecuador S.A. opened its own ceramic bottle production plant to guarantee consistent quality of this important component.

In early 2001 the company grew to include two plants plus administrative and sales offices in Quito, as well as a sales office in the coastal city of Guayaquil.

Without a doubt, the most frequently asked question is:

Why was "Espiritu del Ecuador" chosen as the name for a liqueur?

On several occasions it has been confused with a religious institution. It is also common to hear people say

"Espiritu Santo" (Sacred Spirit) when referring to the product.

In the beginning the search for an appropriate name to describe the Liqueur of Ecuador was key. It was important that the name that include everything the founders felt while creating a product of such great quality and representative of the country. Not finding an option that met those characteristics it was agreed that a literal translation of "Spirit of Ecuador" be chosen, using the word Spirit in English meaning liqueur or alcoholic beverage.

That is the origin of "Espiritu del Ecuador". The moment you say it the first time, you can't help but realize that this is something special. "Espiritu" can mean so many things and put together with "del Ecuador" they created something like cultural identity, Ecuadorian magic or national individuality.

"Espiritu del Ecuador" means that they have put into a liquor bottle that feeling for a country, so much love, quality, richness, and above all else, so much spirit.

The "Spirit of Ecuador" is a golden liqueur with the flavor of exotic fruits from the "Middle of the World", one of the very best of the world's fine liqueurs.

If you are looking for something really special for the person who has everything or is impossible to shop for, This might make a perfect gift. You will not find this rare collectable in even the best stores.

This bottle is not available anyw else, not even on ebay. This bottle would be a great addition to your collection or as a perfect gift for that special collector. <...
