L'ESTAMPE MODERNE (The Modern Print) *Title: ORIGINAL FOLDED COVER FOR HOLDING L'estampe Moderne prints when originally ordered and shippedArtist: Alphone Mucha (Czech Republic 1860- 1939)Year printed: Aout, 1898Print type: Letterpress on heavy hand-made paper tinted light greenDimensions: A folder (folded one with four sides, only the front and rear pages are printed) Measures 12 3/4 x 16 1/2 (the actual prints held inside measured 12 x 16 inches)Scanned image shown: Shows 95% if image, slightly cropped, the hidden edges have no faultsCondition : Hand-made paper that has faults, unintended by the maker: above the nose of the woman are 4 slightly raised bumps, they may appear as-if very tiny pebbles were inside the folder and pressure caused the raised paper; actually there are tiny foreign objects INSIDE the paper (see third image for best view). A second unintended fault is by the printer: the printed image is slightly askew (view next to last image) the last scan shows a cropped image of how a matted copy of the plate could look, that is, perfectly proportioned.. The third is a true fault of time, either age or accidental, but minor: just above the bordered frame of the woman is a small stain (see 4th image). [I try to be descriptive of all faults, so please do not take this plate as being below average, it is still a stunning
