Estate - GBD Old Briar Straight Billiard Smoking Pipe in Very Good Condition! This is a NO Reserve auction for this pre-owner GBD Straight Billiard Smoking Pipe. The pipe has a light, smooth polished finish; showing off a great variety of grain patterns. The pipe is in VERY GOOD condition . NO Issues! The pipe does have some slight ash noted in the bowl and some 'dings' that can be seen only upon very close inspection- it was obviously given great care by its prior owner. The smooth finish does feel great in the hand. The top of the bowl is in very good condition (no dark areas are noted)-- also the angles are all crisp and clean. Overall length of 6 1/4"; bowl height of 1 7/8" and inner bowl diameter of 3/4". It has a classic straight billiard shape; very nicely balanced and lightweight of its size (tad under 2 ounces). Nomenclature on the shank (crisp and clear ): GBD (in oval), Old Briar, Made in London England symbol and #16. The black vulcanite stem has a very slight nick on the end-- no real teethmarks are noted-- it does contain the GBD gold logo (although it has been quite buffed down from aggressive buffing over the years). A pipe cleaner does pass smoothly thru the stem and into the bowl!
