DESCRIPTION: This is a mini-lot of 56 old Brooklyn postcards from the estates of two life-long collectors. We came across them while sorting through a much larger New York City lot and wondered: "Does anybody collect Flatbush?" I guess we'll find out this coming week . . . . TYPES OF POST CARDS: The lot consists of the following:one real photo post card, six undivided back cards (pre-1908), only 2 "older" cards (1907-15), however, one's a Detroit Publishing the other a Rotograph, so they're classy, 21 white border cards (1915-30), 22 linen era (1930s-50s) andfour printed cards, likely from the 1940s-50s.DUPLICATION: T are two kinds of possible duplication in lots: 1) duplication of subject (e.g., a NY City collector could have 100 different Statue of Liberty cards) and 2) duplication of a specific card (i.e., more than one copy of the same card). If I counted correctly, t are five duplicates in this lot. SIZE: Standard (approx. 3 ½" x 5 ½" ) Scanned cards are enlarged to show detail. AGE/ERA: 1903-1950s. CONDITION: The vast majority of cards are in good to very good condition. We try not to let any ugly cards get through, but occasionally, ugly happens. Cards are postally used and unused.
