ESTATE BRASS MISSION BELL This brass mission bell was part of my Mom's bell collection. She collected for years and kept them displayed in a mahogany display case in the living room. I was mesmerized by the collection when I was small, but I find myself equally entranced now as I unpack them from their storage. T is such a variety of materials, shapes, and sounds. I only wish I could ask her questions about them. This solid brass bell has OLD MISSION SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO 1776 embossed along the rim. Bell is 2-5/8" high and 2-5/8" wide across the bottom. Classic shape with ball clapper on a wire. Some rust inside (from the wire) and some oxidation (green) inside and by the lettering. I have not cleaned the bell so it has a wonderful appearance. I am just starting to list items from my Mom's estate. She traveled extensively and always brought home a lot more than she took with her. She died at the age of 97, so t was a lot of time for accumulating! I will be listing for a long time! I have lots of vintage items in my store, so come on in and look around!
