Estes Outlander Model Rocket - Out of Production - Planetary Lander LooksDescriptionEstes Outlander Model Rocket - Out of ProductionNEW Unopened kit only Produced 2004 and 2005Certainly one of the more visually interesting models to come from Estes in many years. Those of you who remember the classic Estes Mars Lander from 1968-84 will recognize some design elements in this model, primarily the "spring loaded" landing gear and struts. Everything else about this model points toward a vehicle designed to land on airless works with the crew housed in a large Apollo-like command module. With its myriad of exposed "fuel tanks", landing gear and other "non model rocket" type appendages, this model makes for a display model that will certainly be the center of attention on your desk or bookshelf and draw its share of admirers on the flying field.Though a B motors is in the recommended motor list for this model, I suggest their use only on the calmest of days. I really recommend flying only with a C6-3. But, the flights are real head-turners...they are low and slow with thrilling realisme. The parachute pops and the model lands on its shock-absorbing landing gear.Specifications:Length: 12.5"R ecovery: 18" ParachuteLanding Gear: Laser-cut BalsaNose Cone: PlasticWeight: 4.2 oz.Altitude: 200 FtRecommended motors: B4-2, B6-2, C63This model is read more
