supersize image Venice an original proof etching by E. H. Barlow Liverpool, active, 1915 - 1926. E. H. Barlow: An English architectural and landscape etcher, who exhibited in Liverpool, Bristol and London and specialised in colour etchings. Barlow's work was annually shown at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Well traveled, Barlow's etchings include scenes of cities in Italy, France, Belgium and Holland as well as views of London, Liverpool and elsew This superb coloured etching has bright, crisp and unfaded colouring with raised intaglio ink lines, the image measuring 15 cms. x 23 cms. ( 9 x 6 ins.) within a fine and evident platemark and impression. Printed on a medium wove paper sheet size 27 cms. x 29 cms. ( 11 � x 11 ins.) with the signature of E. H. Barlow in pencil to bottom right margin. This is a finely printed, full colour impression and in fine condition throughout. The sheet carries an 'Academy Proof' embossed blindstamp below the image.
