Original Etienne Ret oil on board. Part of the signature is cutt off by the frame so I had to open the back of the painting to see the entire signature. Please see photos. This painting belonged to my parents and was probably bought in the 50's or 60's. The painting itself measures approx. 24" wide by 11" high. The total painting and frame measures approx. 32" wide by 18 1/2" high. I'm sure my parents either bought the painting in this frame or had it framed so the frame is probably from the 50's or 60's as well. The painting is in excellent condition with no damage. Etienne's signature is on the bottom right hand corner as pictured. My parents always told me this was painted in Paris, France...the bridge being on the Seine River in Paris with Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower in the background. From the research on the artist I have done, the artist usually paints people, not cityscapes or architecture as does this painting. I'm not an art dealer or expert but assume that would make this painting more unusual which usually equals more value. Please email with any questions and I will do my best to answer. Please also see below for information on the artist and auction details. Born in Bourbonnais, France on Jan. 6, 1900.
