This Auction is for a Very Old, 1800s, Butter Dish with a Liner / Drain BUT No Lid-----Shell and Seaweed Pattern with Pink inside----6.75" Across X 2.1/8" High, Liner is 4.25" Across-----Included are two (2) Butter Pat Dishes, 3"----Butter Pats are a Different Pattern. I do not have a Majolica Book but did find an On-Line Site & found a Pattern called Leaf Over-Lapping that looks like these The Colors around outside edge is 3 colors that Over-Lap-----Butter Pats are not marked. Butter Dish has the Circle with Etruscan Majolica & G.S.H For Griffin, Smith & Hill Co. which is Company that made this Pattern in the 1800s. Also a N7 . I had always thought Majolica was all from England but these were made in Pa. so I learned something!-----Butter Dish has a Hairline Crack on side that shows in my Picture, I put a Paper Clip at bottom of Crack so you can see the Length of it. It is Visable about 1 in. on outside. I don't see any Chips. The inside edge of top feels Rough. Liner has a Hairline Crack & Crazing & Very Small Chip on edge.
