THANK YOU FOR LOOKING WELCOME TO MY AUCTION This is a beautiful unique sword. The person I recieved it from said it was from europe and was a 16th or 17th century sword. I dont know anything about swords so I proceeded to look it up on the web and found an article on wild boar hunting in these centuries. It was very common used, by kings also. That article you can find it at http///files/animals/hunt-spears-msg.html then click on hunt-spears-msg The wood is a very dark redish wood. This is what the sword slides in to. The clothe thing on the side is what I believe is a spear holder. It has a boar head shape at the top im not sure but I believe its made of bone. T is hard course boar hair woven in the sword up the side and at the top and bottom is longer hair that feels and seems more like human hair. It has wooden peg construction see picture. It has beautiful carving on the blade. I believe attached to it is a spear holder. It looks to be constructed out of some kind of straw or grass like stuff with material. The material looks to be of period time. Its a very unique kind of sword. It does have some condition issues but it is 3or 4 hundred years old. I have to say for its age it is in remarkable shape. You would have to hold it in your hands to understand were im coming from. Know I dont know a thing about swords first time Ive ever delt with them but I have 5 Ill be listing so please keep checking and like this one I believe they are from the 17th century. Any information any one can give me Ill welcome. If any one has a different apinion about the age please let me know.It would be interesting to know. Researching is hard.
