European ART NOUVEAU Brass LAMP Base early 1900's

Up for auction is a very interesting Art Nouveau Lamp base in the style of reminiscent the great Hector Guimard. This was purchase from a woman in her 80's that had inherited this from her mother, an Austrian immigrant who came to the United States in the first quarter of the 20th century. She also had many great pieces of period Austrian ceramics in the Nouveau style that she was not yet ready to part with but had originally come from the same collection. If you are a fan of period pieces by Tiffany, Victor Horta and other high-end designers from the Nouveau era than this would be a great addition to your collection. This piece measures an impressive 17" tall with a base diameter of 9.25". It is a solid, well made piece... it is quite heavy weighing about 10 pounds. The base is in very good vintage condition with understandable minor wear and patina from it's 90+ years of age. We'd say it is in better than average condition because (we were told) the wiring was taken out around 40 years ago and the piece had not been used as a lamp since. This would be great to restore to it's former glory... all you need to do is have it re-wired and then find a nice replacement shade. We've been to many, many fine estate sales, auctions and flea markets over the past 10 years and have never seen a lamp quite like this. Please see all of the photos for a good visual description.
